I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 16 years ago.  Since the beginning (pretty much), I decided that this disease would not discourage me, but instead give me a reason to live better.  I wanted health and I wanted control of my own disease.  I measure my success by the fact I am without any complications after 16 years, I have relatively short doctor visits, and I have recently had two healthy boys.  This disease has also put a desire in my heart to make a difference in other diabetic's lives.

I carry my Glucometer with me everywhere I go and I have always wished the pouch wasn't soooo ugly.  One day I thought I should do something about it.  Keeping with a simple design, I have created a pouch made from funky material to carry my Glucometer.  I hope other diabetic woman will appreciate an "accessory" for their Glucometer and diabetic kids will be more excited to carry their Glucometer in a fun pouch.

The pouch can carry any Glucometer. It is a simple design with a zipper closure, two elastics to hold the lancet and the strips, and a piece of velcro to secure the Glucometer.

I am excited to partner with the Alberta Diabetic Foundation; 10% of all sales will be donated to the ADF to help fund ongoing research.  This is my way to give back and hopefully inspire other diabetics.
